03/20/2009 We attempted to slip in one last trip before the weather turns sour. It looks like it will be a weeks worth of wind heading our way. Today we went right back to the honey hole that has had us by ourselves and in front of fish for the past week. Winds were mellow, rolling happy Tarpon, and a plan that looked like it would pay off. No sooner did I get our 1st line out than we had a Tarpon hooked up, greyhound jumping and heading for deeper water. It was another big boy in the 100+ class. After the freight train run he gave us another jump and he was gone. As fast as we hooked up he was off the hook. That 15 minutes of battle marked the end of the action for the entire day (the ole' 1st cast a fish bad karma rule). This could very well be the last day on the water for me before heading back to SNJ to prepare for the upcoming Striper season.
