11/21/07 Finally with a break in the seemingly constant winds it was good to get back on the water again. Today's weather offered us the "Melochi Crunch"low pressure system which is the body of calm winds between to stiff wind low pressure systems, and that is always the recipe of success. Slick calm waters, no boats and water temperatures prime at 49 degrees with a focus of throwing topwater plugs for laid up Bass. It was shocking that for the first part of the trip we had beautiful looking, fast moving waters but could not buy a topwater bite in fact 2 zip codes and 504 casts later we had not even a sniff. Once we came to terms with the reality that the success on the surface was not going to work we decided to go into subsurface mode so a quick skiff ride put us in one of my "old school" spots from days gone past and 2 casts later and the game was on. Once we hit the first Bass of the day (a nice 29" fatty) we zeroed in on the pattern and once we had that figured out the mojo began to flow as we sat on top of Bass for nearly 2 hours offering a nice constant pace of action. We had about 15 Bass today in total and all were with the fatness ranging in size from 26'-32".
